Motivation

  • To get the cross section of Z0 as a function of pt, we need to estimate the efficiency correction precisely.
  • Acceptance for Z0 as a function of pt
    • the definition : (# of Z0, both mouns in the |Mu_eta| < 2.4)/(# of Z0, |Z0 y| < 2.4)

Ratio of Z0 for each pt and y bin using the pythia at 2.76 TeV?

Estimation for 1 pt bin

  • Using the Vineet's macro Z0MassFit?.C and glb+glb pair, counted the number of integrated signal for the Embedded sample : 38999.1, error : 196.68
  • The Acc x Eff_reco * ratio of each pt bin
    • = (# of reconstructed signal)/(# of embedded Z0 in the |Z0y| < 2.4) x 1(the ratio) = 38999.1/88609 x 100 = 44.01 %

Getting the Acc X Eff

  • weighting on the pt : (ratio of pythia)/(ratio of J/psi Ramona V.)
  • Error estimation : the error of A/B = A/B*( sqrt( (A_err/A)^2 + (B_err/B)^2) ) )
  • Table of Acc X Eff_reco for Hydjet Embedding (Please ignore this result, please look at below AMPT regarding JulyExercise?)

July Exercise Acceptance X Eff_Reco

Motivation

  • To get the cross section of Z0 as a function of pt, we need to estimate the efficiency correction precisely.
  • Acceptance for Z0 as a function of pt
    • the definition : (# of Z0, both mouns in the |Mu_eta| < 2.4)/(# of Z0, |Z0 y| < 2.4)

1. Ratio of Z0 for each pt and y bin using the pythia at 2.76 TeV?

2. Estimation for 1 pt bin

  • Using the Vineet's macro Z0MassFit?.C and glb+glb pair, counted the number of integrated signal for the Embedded sample : 38999.1, error : 196.68
  • The Acc x Eff_reco * ratio of each pt bin
    • = (# of reconstructed signal)/(# of embedded Z0 in the |Z0y| < 2.4) x 1(the ratio) = 38999.1/88609 x 100 = 44.01 %

3. Getting the Acc X Eff

  • weighting on the pt : (ratio of pythia)/(ratio of J/psi Ramona V.)
  • Error estimation : the error of A/B = A/B*( sqrt( (A_err/A)^2 + (B_err/B)^2) ) )
  • Table of Acc X Eff_reco for Hydjet Embedding (Please ignore this result, please look at below AMPT regarding JulyExercise?)

July Exercise Acceptance X Eff_Reco

Motivation

  • To get the cross section of Z0 as a function of pt, we need to estimate the efficiency correction precisely.
  • Acceptance for Z0 as a function of pt
    • the definition : (# of Z0, both mouns in the |Mu_eta| < 2.4)/(# of Z0, |Z0 y| < 2.4)

1. Ratio of Z0 for each pt and y bin using the pythia at 2.76 TeV?

2. Gen Info embedded sample ~ 90k events

  • Gen pt and Gen pt in the |Zy| < 2.4
  • Gen mass and Gen mass in the |Zy| < 2.4 and Gen mass in the |Zy| < 2.4 with pt 12 GeV?/c cut
  • Gen rapidity and Gen rapidity in the |Zy| < 2.4

3. Estimation for 1 pt bin

  • Using the Vineet's macro Z0MassFit?.C and glb+glb pair, counted the number of integrated signal for the Embedded sample : 38999.1, error : 196.68
  • The Acc x Eff_reco * ratio of each pt bin
    • = (# of reconstructed signal)/(# of embedded Z0 in the |Z0y| < 2.4) x 1(the ratio) = 38999.1/88609 x 100 = 44.01 %

4. Getting the Acc X Eff

  • weighting on the pt : (ratio of pythia)/(ratio of J/psi Ramona V.)
  • Error estimation : the error of A/B = A/B*( sqrt( (A_err/A)^2 + (B_err/B)^2) ) )

July Exercise Acceptance X Eff_Reco

Motivation

  • To get the cross section of Z0 as a function of pt, we need to estimate the efficiency correction precisely.
  • Acceptance for Z0 as a function of pt
    • the definition : (# of Z0, both mouns in the |Mu_eta| < 2.4)/(# of Z0, |Z0 y| < 2.4)

1. Ratio of Z0 for each pt and y bin using the pythia at 2.76 TeV?

2. Gen Info embedded sample ~ 90k events

  • Gen pt and Gen pt in the |Zy| < 2.4
  • Gen mass and Gen mass in the |Zy| < 2.4 and Gen mass in the |Zy| < 2.4 with pt 12 GeV?/c cut
  • Gen rapidity and Gen rapidity in the |Zy| < 2.4

3. Estimation for 1 pt bin

  • Using the Vineet's macro Z0MassFit?.C and glb+glb pair, counted the number of integrated signal for the Embedded sample : 38999.1, error : 196.68
  • The Acc x Eff_reco * ratio of each pt bin
    • = (# of reconstructed signal)/(# of embedded Z0 in the |Z0y| < 2.4) x 1(the ratio) = 38999.1/88609 x 100 = 44.01 %

4. Getting the Acc X Eff

  • weighting on the pt : (ratio of pythia)/(ratio of J/psi Ramona V.)
  • Error estimation : the error of A/B = A/B*( sqrt( (A_err/A)^2 + (B_err/B)^2) ) )

July Exercise Acceptance X Eff_Reco

Motivation

  • To get the cross section of Z0 as a function of pt, we need to estimate the efficiency correction precisely.
  • Acceptance for Z0 as a function of pt
    • the definition : (# of Z0, both mouns in the |Mu_eta| < 2.4)/(# of Z0, |Z0 y| < 2.4)

1. Ratio of Z0 for each pt and y bin using the pythia at 2.76 TeV?

2. Gen Info embedded sample ~ 90k events

  • Gen pt and Gen pt in the |Zy| < 2.4
  • Gen mass and Gen mass in the |Zy| < 2.4 and Gen mass in the |Zy| < 2.4 with pt 12 GeV?/c cut
  • Gen rapidity and Gen rapidity in the |Zy| < 2.4

3. Estimation for 1 pt bin

  • Using the Vineet's macro Z0MassFit?.C and glb+glb pair, counted the number of integrated signal for the Embedded sample : 38999.1, error : 196.68
  • The Acc x Eff_reco * ratio of each pt bin
    • = (# of reconstructed signal)/(# of embedded Z0 in the |Z0y| < 2.4) x 1(the ratio) = 38999.1/88609 x 100 = 44.01 %

4. Getting the Acc X Eff

  • weighting on the pt : (ratio of pythia)/(ratio of J/psi Ramona V.)
  • Error estimation : the error of A/B = A/B*( sqrt( (A_err/A)^2 + (B_err/B)^2) ) )

July Exercise Acceptance X Eff_Reco

Motivation

  • To get the cross section of Z0 as a function of pt, we need to estimate the efficiency correction precisely.
  • Acceptance for Z0 as a function of pt
    • the definition : (# of Z0, both mouns in the |Mu_eta| < 2.4)/(# of Z0, |Z0 y| < 2.4)

2. Gen Info embedded sample ~ 90k events

  • Gen pt and Gen pt in the |Zy| < 2.4
  • Gen mass and Gen mass in the |Zy| < 2.4 and Gen mass in the |Zy| < 2.4 with pt 12 GeV?/c cut
  • Gen rapidity and Gen rapidity in the |Zy| < 2.4

3. Estimation for 1 pt bin

  • Using the Vineet's macro Z0MassFit?.C and glb+glb pair, counted the number of integrated signal for the Embedded sample : 38999.1, error : 196.68
  • The Acc x Eff_reco * ratio of each pt bin
    • = (# of reconstructed signal)/(# of embedded Z0 in the |Z0y| < 2.4) x 1(the ratio) = 38999.1/88609 x 100 = 44.01 %

4. Getting the Acc X Eff

  • weighting on the pt : (ratio of pythia)/(ratio of J/psi Ramona V.)
  • Error estimation : the error of A/B = A/B*( sqrt( (A_err/A)^2 + (B_err/B)^2) ) )
